2.0 Collection and Use of Personal and/or Business Information
We may collect contact information that you provide us about you and/or your business when you interact with our website, including when you:
- Contact our customer service desk, or ask us to contact you; or
- Provide us with comments or suggestions
If you register with our Consumer Portal, we may also collect information about you and/or your business when you interact with that portal, including when you:
- Register (providing contact information and creating a login ID and password); or
- Opt-In (providing contact information) for email and/or text message safety alerts (SMTP, SMS or similar) from the FDA or USDA (or additional agencies) and follow up notifications/alerts (i.e. from product Suppliers and/or Buyers); or
- Enabling use of GPS services on your device or provide search criteria to find products, stores, recipes, and other information.
While we may collect and store your personal and/or business information (and any other information you provide us or input into the website), we intend to store such personal and/or business information or data only for so long as is necessary for the transactions or purposes for which we collected it (or as may be required by law).
3.0 Promotional Email and other Email/Text Message Details and Opt-out
If you have opted in, or otherwise receive these forms of communication, and no longer wish to receive promotional or other communications by email, you may opt-out or unsubscribe by following the instructions that are included on each email. If you opted in, and no longer wish to receive communications by text message, you may opt-out or unsubscribe by following the instructions included in any text messages. 4.0 Other Uses of Personal and/or Business Information
Dapicon uses personal and/or business information, including information you provide us and information provided to us from our Service Providers and Marketing Partners, to continually assess and improve the products and services we offer. If you register with our Consumer Portal, we may also inform you about products and services, sales and special offers that might benefit you. When you register online or voluntarily participate in a survey, you will have the opportunity to sign up for emails about our products, services, sales, and special offers. We may also send you email, faxes, mail, or call you with information about our product and service offerings if you opt-in for such services and have provided us with your contact information, name and address, email address, fax, or phone numbers.
5.0 Your Suggestions
We also use your feedback, suggestions, survey information, and comments to monitor and/or improve the ways we serve you.
6.0 Protection and Disclosure of Personal and/or Business Information
Dapicon intends to maintain strict confidentiality of the personal and/or business information in its possession. Dapicon does not trade, rent, or sell your personal or business information. If you register with our Consumer Portal and opt-in to receive information about products, services, sales, special offers, or governmental notices/information, Dapicon simply forwards such information to you via our third-party messaging service. You should keep in mind, however, that no internet transmission is 100% secure or error-free. In particular, emails sent or received may not be secure. As such, you should be careful in deciding what information you choose to provide us, especially over email, and safeguard any login IDs and passwords you create.
7.0 Companies that work with or on behalf of Dapicon
If you search for recipes, products, stores, or other information from Dapicon, these products or services may not be provided by Dapicon, but rather by local or national companies with which we contract to provide such services. Other third parties provide technology we use on our website to optimize your searching/shopping experience and to market relevant products and services to you on our website, and in email or text message communications that you agree to receive. These companies may have access to your personal and/or business information to the extent necessary to perform their functions. We do not give these companies the right or permission to use your personal or business information for any reason other than to provide you with those specific services.
9.0 Additional Information about our website
9.1 Visiting our website
In general, you can visit our website without telling us who you are or providing us with any information. However, we collect the IP (Internet protocol) addresses of all visitors to our website and other related information such as page requests, browser type, operating system, and average time spent on our website. We use this and other aggregated information for analytical purposes and to monitor and improve our website. We may also disclose aggregated information with third parties such as Google Analytics, or our Service Providers and Marketing Partners in connection with our Partner Portal.
Our website uses a technology called “cookies”. A cookie is a tiny element of data that our website and our third party technology providers can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your hard drive so we can recognize you when you return. All pages on our website where you are prompted to log in or that are customizable require that you accept cookies. If you have registered with our Consumer Portal, these cookies (1) may let us know who you are, (2) are necessary to access your account information (stored on our computers) in order to deliver search results, products, and personalized services, and (3) will provide us and our technology providers with information that we will use to personalize our website in accordance with your preferences. You may set your Web browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. However, should you decide not to accept cookies from our website, you will limit the functionality we can provide when you visit our website.

10.0 GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
Most of the rights stated in the following sections (10.1 – 10.8) as part of the GDPR can be addressed directly by the consumer by logging onto the Dapicon Consumer Portal using their unique User ID and Password and accessing their Account Settings. This will give the consumer the opportunity to view, edit, and/or delete all account settings, including personal contact information and elections to receive notices.
In the event the consumer wishes to request this information in lieu of accessing this themselves by logging into their Account Settings, they can simply email firstname.lastname@example.org and request that their personal information be sent to them.
10.1 Right to be Informed
The data we collect, use, process, or share is lawful, fair, and transparent. We go to great lengths to ensure your data is protected. To that end, we only use your data for the purposes you opt-in for and do not sell your personal data to any company. Please review sections 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 9.4 above to learn more.
10.2 Right of Access
Each consumer can request information obtained by Dapicon on the consumer at any time. To request this information, please see Section 11.0. Additionally, a consumer can see all of the information contained in their profile by logging into the Consumer Portal using their User ID and Password.
10.3 Right to Rectification
In the event information on the consumer is inaccurate or incomplete, consumer will have access to their own profile using their user ID and password to rectify any part of their profile that is inaccurate or incomplete.
10.4 Right to Erasure
As part of their Account Settings, the consumer has the option to delete their profile. Once their profile is deleted, all information associated with the consumer will also be deleted, and their information will be permanently removed from Dapicon’s Consumer Portal.
10.5 Right to Restrict Processing
As part of their Account Settings, the consumer drives which features they opt-in to and which features they opt-out of. As such, they control how their information will be utilized to provide the features they opt-in to.
10.6 Right to Data Portability
The data retained on the consumer is limited to generic contact information, as well as options specific to Dapicon features only.
10.7 Right to Object
At any time, a consumer can object to how their personal data is being used. To do so, they can either email our DPO (Data Privacy Officer) at email@example.com, or contact us directly (see section 11.0). Additionally, they can log into our Dapicon Consumer Portal at any time and delete their profile, which will automatically cease all features and cease all notifications previously opted-in by the consumer.
10.8 Automatic Decision Making and Profiling
No automated decisions nor profiling is done on consumer data obtained by Dapicon.
